Bottle Blitz (2011) Review + Thoughts!

Hello all!

Went on a shopping spree these few days and bought the Nite Finder double pack and the Bottle Blitz @ CarreFour Suntec, Singapore today (20/6/2011). I bought the Nitefinder for a friend and I to share, but I'ld be reviewing the Bottle Blitz (2011 Edition) today.

I would like to present you, the Bottle Blitz!

Contents of the box:

The Bottle Blitz, unboxed.

Size Comparison. It's pretty small in your hands, really.

Here is a rough impression of what it looks like in your hands - First-Person style, once again. Sorry for the messy house.

Nerf claimed that you could use your own bottle as the water reservoir. This is a size comparison between the stock reservoir and the 1.5L Sprite bottle. Damn it's huge.

First up, Nerf claimed on their box that the firing distance is about 25ft. (7.6m) But is it true? I've shot a couple of times to average it out. Surprisingly, the stats came out better than what the box states!

The maximum distance of the shots I've taken so far was around 32.5ft. That's pretty good considering the puny size of the blaster.

A close-up view of the maximum distance.

The optimum distance of the shots was approximately 28ft - 3ft better than what the box claims. Note that the 'optimum' distance of the shots does not mean that it's the maximum distance, but rather it is the 'sweet spot' where the water just begins to drop.

A few pictures of the blaster in action. It is a steady stream from these shots I took. Do remember that this blaster is small. The Bottle Blitz uses the Punp-to-Fire mechanism also found on their Point Break, Tornado Strike and Scatter Blast.

Here is the muzzle size for you all to see! The left blaster is the Thunderstom, center blaster Bottle Blitz, and finally the right blaster is the Hydro Cannon. As you can see, the muzzle size of the Bottle Blitz is larger in diameter than the Thunderstorm, but smaller than the Hydro Cannon. That makes the bottle blitz shoot out a stream of water instead of a string of water.

Here are the specs of the gun:

Name-------------------> Bottle Blitz
Year of Release: 2011 --> 2011
Price: -------------------> SGD$15.90
Capacity: ---------------> 250ml (Stock), upgradeable.
Distance: ---------------> 28ft. (Optimum), 32.5ft. (Max)
Size: --------------------> Small, about the length of a Nerf Barricade w/o Water Reservoir.
Mechanism: -------------> Pump-to-Fire.
No. of Pumps till Empty:-> 15+- (Stock Revervoir), 80+- (1.5L bottle)

What are my final thoughts about the Bottle Blitz? It is an awesome gun! For only $15.90, you get a small and compact but powerful water gun that shoots streams of water averaging 30ft. Furthermore, you have 'unlimited' water clips, aka the number of bottles you can carry! But hey, one is more than enough as it took me an average of 80 pumps before the stream starts to fizzle and empty.
It is totally worth that $15.90 of yours! I'm not joking here and it's no marketing gimmick.

Let's break it down in a mini list. Why the Bottle Blitz is worth your money:
1) It's small, but powerful.
2) Doesn't break that easily.
3) Versatile Water Clips according to your bottles
4) 'Unlimited' Water clips depending on how many bottles you can carry
5) Actually fires a stream of water compared to the puny string the Thunderstorm squirts.
6) A 1.5L bottle can be fired 80 times before it fizzles and empties.
7) Cheaper than the Hydro Cannon, Thunderstorm and Tornado Strike but performs way better.
8) Ultra Portable.
9) Delivers surprising ranges despite it's small size.
10) It's simply awesome!

I'm absolutely satisfied with this product and get it now before the stock runs out. Finally a great product released Nerf!

Longstrike (Whiteout Series).

Once again, I'm back from my Bintan trip from the 18 to 19 June. It's a short trip, it was amazingly fun!

I've got with me today the new Nerf Longstrike Whiteout Series - grabbed it at Metro Paragon, Singapore for the price of SGD$63 - After a 20% discount. So I'm sure many of you have seen the pictures around, but heck, I'll post mine as well:

I've decided to try something new - views of the sights. These are the 'options' which Nerf states you could use. The first one is using the normal iron sights w/o attachments.

The next one is with the flip-up sight, but with out flipping out the sights:

The third one is the front end of the attachment flipped up, along with the sight on the extended barrel:

The last one is with both the sights on the attachments flipped up and aligned:

This is a first-person view of what it roughly looks like:

 I've toyed around with it for some time and I came up with an interesting combination:

Here's a side view of it:

Well, it's pretty much a combination of the Longstrike without the extended barrel, but attached the flip-up sight at the front rail, the Clear Recon's flip-up sight at the rear rail, the Alpha Trooper's 18-round drum mag and 2 extra 6-round mags. It's tested to be pretty good surprisingly!

I'll sign off for now. Good night!

As of 16/6/2011.

Hi Guys!

Finally back from my holiday to Thailand which lasted from 11th to 15th June. It was very enjoyable! Also, it stocks several Nerf products not available in Singapore. From my 'recce' at Central World and Paragon, They seemed to stock the Tech Target readily. Unfortunately I did not buy it as I was saving up for the whiteout series. Too bad!

Coming back to the topic, here is my Nerf Arsenal, as of 16/6/2011. It looks a lot, but trust me, I'm still missing out on a lot of the products out there. Well, there are still many out there to collect!
